Not a true begonia, this charming plant has rounded, silver-veined leaves and sends out red 'strawberry' runners dangling baby plantlets — a delightful trailing feature for terrariums.

Light

Bright, indirect light keeps the silver veining bright and encourages runners.

Water & humidity

Keep evenly moist; it likes consistent moisture but not sogginess.

In the terrarium

Suits closed and airy terrariums alike. Position it near the top or an edge so its runners can dangle and produce plantlets down the glass.

Tip: Pin a runner's plantlet onto the substrate and it will root into a new plant you can share or replant.

Common problems

  • Brown leaf edges = too dry.
  • Few or no runners = needs brighter light.
