Cool-growing care
M. nidifica is a true miniature, sometimes fragrant, and one of the more adaptable Masdevallias for beginners, though it is still a cool grower at heart. Keep days under about 24°C and let nights fall into the low teens; steady warmth above the mid-20s is the usual reason it fails. Give it constant high humidity, damp but never soggy roots, and gentle continuous airflow, so an airy terrarium with a small fan beats a warm sealed jar.
