Cool-growing care
M. tentaculata is a small cool grower whose flowers trail long, tentacle-like tails, hence the name. Like its Andean relatives it wants days below about 24°C and cool nights in the low teens; sustained warmth stresses it quickly. Pair those cool conditions with constant high humidity, roots kept damp but never waterlogged, and gentle continuous airflow to keep rot at bay.
